BC Lions Sign Two Including DL Jonathan Newsome

August 20, 2019 - (Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club today announced that it has added American DL Jonathan Newsome along with National DB Oshane Samuels to the practice roster. Newsome (6'3", 245) is a four-year CFL veteran who began his career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2016 and was most recently a member of the Ottawa RedBlacks. August 20, 2019 - WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American defensive end Alex McCalister. McCalister (6'6, 240, Florida, October 17, 1993 in Fort Stewart, GA.) was with the team throughout 2019 training camp. He played three seasons for the Florida Gators, tallying 52 total tackles, 18.5 tackles for a loss, 12.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 27 games. August 20, 2019 - Calgary Stampeders receiver Reggie Begelton is one of the Canadian Football League's players of the week following his record-setting performance against the Montreal Alouettes at McMahon Stadium on Saturday. Begelton tied a franchise record with four touchdown receptions in a single game, matching the mark set by Herm Harrison in 1970.
